Hi everyone,
My name is Shanaya and I'm 23 years old.
I recently got an echocardiogram done and found out that I have mild aortic regurgitation.
I'm currently waiting to see a cardiologist to figure out if I was born with this or what... My primary care explained this to me and told me not to worry. But I'm extremely worried. Decided to join this community to read other people's inspiring stories.

Grace Mason Hi Shanaya,It is certainly understandable to be very worried. The good news is you know it is mild, rather than moderate or severe. Hopefully you do not have to wait too long for assurance from your Cardiologist. Waiting itself is stressful. Wishing you well and hope you find out more soon, for peace of mind.

Rose Madura Hi Shanaya, this must have been a big surprise to you. I'm sure you will be monitored perhaps annually to watch and make sure the regurgitation isn't getting worse. Hopefully, your cardiologist will set you at ease. I would recommend having a written list of questions for him/her and discuss if you should make any lifestyle changes to slow the progression.
