Today I was referred to Dr. Gorav Ailawadi, MD for repair of my mitral valve. Surgery, likely at U of M. I feel deeply stressed!
DeLois Tweedy He is a very good, skilled doctor. I saw him a couple of times in 2020 when he was still at UVA.

I have found the more I have read about other people's stories, doctors reviews, and informational videos, all on this site, my previously super anxious feelings have become less so. Marie Myers I remember that stressed feeling well. Keep yourself busy, exercise if you are able, and do nice things for yourself. I used massage, yoga, and meditation during the stressful waiting period. I also listened to U Tube videos on relaxation and acceptance. This site helped me a lot…

Klara Čičić Dear Sandy, hearing this is always huge stress, we all felt that way. It will get easier with time and acceptance will come. For me, education and sharing my feelings and getting the support on this site helped the most. The more I knew about my surgery (also mitral valve repair), the more I educated myself on the statistics, benefits etc, the more calm I was. We are here for you. You can do this!
