I just scheduled a reoperation for October 7th to remove a subaortic membrane. My first one was done almost 8 years ago, in mount sinai .now I am going to mayo clinic in Rochester,minnesota with Dr dearani. This site provided me with a lot of insight of what to expect and many good wishes. I am freaking out a little with the thought of doing it again, and trying not to think about what if it comes back another time.

I just got back from the dr. Having found out that my subaortic membrane is back. I had a resection in 2013 and my peak gradient post exercise is 60 mmHG lvot does anyone have experience with subaortic membrane in adults. Mine was discovered at age 47 I am now 51. I am worried about having to reoperate. First they are sending me for a tee which I had last time and it was not a good experience to say the least.

Also surgical options might include smaller incision mini-sternotomy or mini-thoracotomy methods (since you didn't mention any need to fix blocked arteries).
