Jean Raber I went through AVR with my mother (81 at the time). Also depressed. Also had a-fib. She was in for a solid 12 days. I took care of her at home post-op. You might tell your mother that staying in a few extra days now will give her a better chance of not having to go back. Doran Herritt Agree with Jean. My experience was a fib the day before I was supposed to go home then again the day it's gonna go home. It bought me a couple extra days in the hospital. They adjusted my metropolol and haven't had it since. I was glad it happened in the hospital as I got it taken care of and didn't end up back in. Hope this helps. Take care. Drn
