Ten years ago I had a pulmonary embolism. In searching for cause and destination of the clot I had a lot of imaging work which revealed aortic regurg and an aortic aneurysm. Been watching ever since, Started to have some symptoms a few years ago but I wrote them off since I passed the stress tests. Has a stress echo last spring and the regurg had become severe. I have an unusual vascular problem in left arm and shoulder including a large subclavian aneurysm and I see a surgeon at NYU Langone who monitors that. He recommended Dr. Galloway at NYU for the valve and aneurysm. I wanted them to coordinate to confirm that my vascular problems would pose no issue for the cardiac surgery and they di so I feel comfortable staying with Dr. Galloway at NYU and not speaking to another surgeon.
