Anyone here has experience with an Athletesheart or HCM? Had valvereplacement okt 28, last year. Had a biscupid valve and also needed.a Aortic Root replacement. Got a biovine valve with a dacron tube . Biovine in order to continue sport the way I did and for not having so much medication in this time of my life. (41) Now my cardiologist is telling me I have hypertrophic cardiomyopathy... An athletesheart? Didn't they notice this when I was lying on the table? So after a year of pain, recovery etc. Working to full recovery, I have to stop training and give up endurance sports.... Because in time , he couldn't say when (10,20,30 years?), I could get into trouble. I feel lost. I know I should be glad to be alive and have a second change. And I am, really, I am. I love my wife and children. I'm glad that science has given me the chance to grow old. But know I wish I just didn't know. Sport is such a big part of my life. Anyone have experience with this? Do I have to get a second opinion?
