Nina was my current nurse at Northwestern Memorial Hospital ln Chicago, Illinois. She is one of dozens of commited, highly professional caregivers that have treated me with the utmost respect at this hospital in my fight to come back to a complete recovery from a triple bypass and atrial heart valve prosthetic replacement after having a heart attack unexpectedly just after Christmas. She works on the 12th floor of the Galter Building at this medical center, a floor that mostly cares for open heart surgery patients, heart transplant and double lung transplant patients. Covid 19 has made it necessary for many people suffering from this virus to need emergency heart and lung transplants in response to life threatening problems Covid has created. While Covid was not the reason for my need for open heart surgery, I did test positive for the disease while here, the reason for my 10 day quarantine to my scheduled surgery. This medical center employs hundreds of awesome, well trained caregivers that have all been kind, courteous and professional in everything from the surgeon, Duc Thinh Pham, MD, down to mere transport workers that make sure I get to X-ray or Ultrasound Imaging technicians who provide services needed in my treatments.Nina is my current nurse at Northwestern Memorial Hospital ln Chicago, Illinois. Susan Lynn Rip - Where would we be without these medical professionals? We always focus on the expertise of the surgeon, but it really does take a village. The level of dedication and commitment of the nurses, technicians, and staff in cardiology is exceptional. I think we all had that favorite nurse (mine was Samantha) who made us feel like we were their only priority. I am forever grateful to my team as you are to yours. Thanks for sharing your story!

Rose Madura It's nice that you honor everyone, transport workers included! I remember the cleaning lady, who saw me, after my 2nf readmission and surgery. She asked if she could pray with me and my husband. We thought that was so awesome. I have great respect for all of them.
