I have a question! I had an AVR on July 16, 2014. I have done very well. This morning I woke up with rib, clavicle, muscle pain like in the weeks following my surgery. Is this normal? It resolved with tylenol and a busy work day. Are these aches part... Read more.
Pat, I used to wake occassionly with pain and I always felt it was due to the position I slept in. Or some activity done during the previous day. Occasionally after cardio. Rehab my chest would hurt. I'm 6months out from AVR and I don't feel like I ever had... Read more.
Thanks for the response, Suzanne. I will have to be more aware of my positions and activities. It is great to have a reassuring note about the "new" experiences of post surgery!
Pat, my AVR was 31 days ago. Still have pain in chest especially in the pectoral muscles. Last night the pain suddenly went away. But by this afternoon, it was back. I have been sleeping mostly on my back since when I try either side the pain flares up! All... Read more.

Pat, Good to hear the docs got your BP under control. You must be very tired so sleep well in your own comfortable bed tonight!
Pat I hope you continue to do well and recovery is smooth here on out.

I had my surgery on July 16, 2014. I have been back to work since September 14. I continue to grow stronger each day! I have a special request. I am a minister in a residence for elder adults. One of the assisted living residents, let's call her Mrs. P,... Read more.
Pat, sending positive thoughts and prayers Mrs P's way.
Thanks, Sean. I am leaving the office to visit her! I will let her know of your kindnesses.
Pat, Wonderful to hear about your successful surgery and the return of your strength. My thoughts are with Mrs. P.
I will pray for Mrs. P. I was impressed with how fast you returned to work after your surgery. That really encourages and inspires me.
Thanks for the prayers for Mrs. P. Right now things are not looking up for her. She will more than likely be going back to her family home and be admitted to hospice care. She has many other conditions that are not in her favor. Please continue praying with her.... Read more.
