Next month will make one year that I had an aortic value replacement, does anyone still experience chest pain from time to time? I go for an Echo on the 24th of this month. I have been a little nervous, any advice please
Thats normal Pamela, I had mitral valve replacement 10yrs ago something i experience chest pain from time to time too. Godbless us
yes i think that is normal i am over two years out and still have chest pain from time to time
Yes! I started a new exercise program this week, and am coming up on my 3-year surgical anniversary. I held a weight with both arms, straight out in front of me and lifted it over my head and head said, "Yep, that's where I had surgery!" It takes the nerves... Read more.
Thank you everyone I was becoming concern so I came to the experts. My Echo is coming up on the 24th.

On 2/12/16 my entire life changed, I had my aortic value replaced. I've known for years that I would have to get this surgery and the day came. I would never have gotten through any of this if it had not been for the member of this site. I read... Read more.
Nice post Pamela, and congrats one year later! (P.S. I also still feel occasional chest pain, and something in my sternum almost 2 years later. It's normal. Take care.)
Well, I wouldn't say I am not afraid, Pam. But it definitely feels more encouraging to me when I see others share their experience and their scar. I am no longer shy to show my scar. I work 100% remote, so I have become accustomed to not covering my scar.... Read more.
Congratulations Pamela. That's a big milestone. I just had my second anniversary of my AVR. And yes, the anniversary reminds us that its wonderful to be alive.
You guys got me crying we are so blessed to be alive. I have no complaints and it feels so good talking to people who have gone through the same. Thank you so much for all the comments.
