Ok - what happens is - once youre \"fixed\" the less time you spend onHVJ. Not that you will ever forget it. BUt what happens is you start to feel so great and your time is spent doing all the things you weren\'t able to do months and years before So may 9 was my 3 month post. And it is now a major non event May 9th is also my doggies birthday. While we all are eternally greatful for our new lives - we will never forget the HVJ - Adam , Jeff. Mitch. Jane. Janis yada yada. ( sorry if you\'re In the yada group). But I believe even Adam will agree - go - and live your life - stop And say hello - give support when U can - its time to live your new life ! I\'m there. Thanks to everyone in our graduating class first quarter 2012. You know who you are ! And to those going forward. Best wishes To you. May your recovery be as smooth and uneventful as mine was. PIX on Nancy\'s post PHOTO (We were gonna switch heads..but decided not too) . Had a great meeting with Mitch...Jane P and Nancy - at Mohegan Sun. Jane brought her husband AL..and I had my Dick with me. This was my first program since 2/9 surgery; so at 8 1/2 weeks; I was at my GAME, . It can be done. Spoke at the New England Tire Service Assn. to about 200 tire dealers. Awesome group. Everyone had a great time.. and we couldn\'t have been more compatible. Meeting folks that we\'ve talked with on Line so long really makes a difference. I\'m trying to say something smart alec or sarcastic; but honestly it was a treat. I\'m sure you\'ll hear from the other 2... Suffice to say it was AWESOME. BE well... Nancy

Got the ALL CLEAR (at pre 6 weeks post) from Cardio Man. Cleared for takeoff.!!! Back to Gym? YES ! Swim? YES Only Lifting up to 20lbs til 5/9 (then GO GIRL) Stoping all meds that they had me on. It has been super. Wow.. I\"m good to go. Difficult to stop and thank everyone who supported/ and stayed with us. But this is the place to do it. Thank you all. Not sure what else to say; except I\"ll be on the road pretty soon and not on the journal as often; but will still check in on a few folks I\"ve bonded with. Life is good. To those coming into surgery. And worried about pain. I just read in USA today a calif woman delivered a14 lb baby boy. Now that\'s pain !! The pain is there but you will not remember it. ( unless it\'s a 14 lb baby )). OMG U gotta be kidding. MY son was 9 lbs & we Thot that was big. Aggggggggg

Slightly, well shall we say \"gently\" used toiler riser. I have a feeling this might be difficult to see...even on ebay... so I\"m just gonna make it a picture frame. ! it was a little help... but not $32 worth. (can you say sucker?) Anyway.. since I\"m post 4 weeks..and feeling great.. I\"m gonna lay low for a while and watch what happens. My first PROGRAM is ARPIL 14 and I\'m very excited.. it\'s up at the Mog.. Sun casino near Hartford Ct. anyone near there? Then PHILLY April 21. and it takes off from there. As I said before I love what I do, and am blessed that the good lord gave me the added strength to continue Dick , the kids and \"skippy\" the dog, joins me in thanking you all for your incredible support. Well the 2 weeks in fla keys were everything one needs to recover. it was spectacular. I feel great ! Will still take it easy of course - however am truly blessed with a great recovery Chuck. I asked dick if he wanted to repeat our vows. He said \" I told you once I love you - if I change my mind I\'ll let you know !\". Seriously. I wish all going thru this an easy recovery. Peace ! Read what DVB posted to & do your best to follow DVB\'s Advice ‘My experience is that if you can get to the place where you are excited about the surgery - that it will give you your life back - and you are fully engaged in preparing then you will’ be calm and relaxed. After you wake up \"on the other side\", if you can take charge of your physical recovery and push yourself the right amount every day, you\'ll do about as best you can.’ I promised. DVB I wouldn\'t \" out\" him. But he had the absolute best suggestions ever. I\'m a pretty positive person - yet as they say \" when youre thru learning. Youre thru \". a valve is round and can gather moss So Jeffrey decided to Get a Ross. Now the ross is hard and different too, but it works quite well and won\'t go \'moo\'. I know I know not suppose to be on TREADMILL but I was going very very slow and holding on for dear life. and even sent the Dr. & Nurse the pix. she said \"great going\". so that\' helped. !!! nanc

Ok. so far so good. Like most I\'ve read about.. I feel as tho I\"m turning the corner. For the better. For every 10 minute walk, it\'s a 2 hour nap. Nothing wrong with that. !!! Recouping in the Keys was a great idea. Loving it. and it\'s helping I\'m sure. Now my thoughts go to Chris; who is doing well..TG. and Jimmy too. Good job. Ok..So.. JEFF S.. Linda H..& the the others who are doing this.... . Go for it. Stop Crying.. manup ! girlup.. and get it done. ! You\'ll lov it. thanks to all who were here for me. Linda Dixion was worried about not hearing from me - but I told her dick untied me every 45 min - the gags comes off pretty often too. It\'s not too bad.

Ok here we go. Getting very good. But not walking as much as I should so mixing that up a bit Lost most of the weight. Yeah ,!!!! Have a BIt more to do And even with to sleeping in the chair - hair turned out not too bad. Hmmmmm let me think about that one think dick is the one that\'s messes it us ? Cannot believe its just one week. We are going to dr mid week to see if he\'ll OK a trip to fla keys for a week or so. He thought so when we saw him at discharge. Good I think I\'m having an affair with my new. Re cliner ! Really is good. Valentines decorated the house. Couldn\'t have planned it better if we had tried. Not used to talking all the pills. Uh vey ! I now know how they feel they when leave off a name at an ascar thank you. Oh boy ! So mny great calls etc to thank. Wish we would get a few personal. Addresses. Oh well. Know I mean well. What a great present - have just been notified by Nancy\'s new nurse that she has arrived HOME!!! Sleeping now - (her, not me!) More details (and pictures if she\'ll let us) later. Love, Linda and Robyn

Breaking news- just got word from Dick that the Dr. would like her to stay one more day in the hospital. Everything is normal, but after her two short walks yesterday, she was just exhausted. So, we\'ll listen to the Dr. and keep her there to watch the snowflakes fall today!! Go Nanny!!!! Love, Robyn and Linda

Hello! Wanted to share the great news that Nancy will be going home tomorrow!! We are all amazed, but not the least bit surprised, at how well she has taken on this whole surgery-and now the recovery stage. She took a couple walks today, which totally wore her out. But she continues to rest and gain energy. Dick will bring his patient home tomorrow morning and we\'re sure that Skippy (her dog) will be ecstatic! Thanks for your continued thoughts and prayers! It won\'t be easy, but we all know Nancy will make it fun!!!! Love, Linda and Robyn

Hello! It\'s been a pretty good day. Started off with Dick reporting that Nancy was pretty exhausted and sleepy most of the morning, after spending a couple hours sitting upright in the chair. Kind of what we expected from her yesterday, but everyone said this is going to be a roller coaster ride! Dr. K saw her this morning and said she was doing well. Tubes and cath were removed today-yay! Only thing she is still hooked up to is the insulin drip. Because your body stresses from surgery, typically your blood sugar will get pretty high. So, they give you insulin to help and it also promotes healing of her incisions. They\'ll take her off that tomorrow. Best news is that she is now out of the ICU!!!! She is in a nice big regular room, although still on the cardiac floor. And, she is much more awake as of this afternoon and looking great! Keep it up Nanny, you\'re doing great!!!! yes- that is correct-24 hours and I am so happy to tell you that Nanny (Nancy) is back!!! Papa (Dick) was awakened by a call from Nanny bright and early asking if he would like to go bike riding or go running???? She is remarkable!! When we walked into her room today Nanny was sitting up looking gorgeous and I could see this absolute relief and happiness come over David (Nanny\'s son- whose middle name is \"What if??\") He had his mom back and it was written all over his face- \"She is going to be fine!!\" We were all thrilled to see and hear that Nanny was sharp and spunky and her hair was cute and spikey!!! Her makeup bag and brush were right at her side. Nanny asked all about her grandkids and the office- I am telling you she barely took 24 hours off. She even said that she went into her drug induced haze reciting her program and came out of it doing the same. Big news- Nanny sat in a chair for an hour today- and will be adding weights to her routine tomorrow-ok- not really tomorrow- but soon!!! Nanny was ready to move on to another room today but they did not have a room to give her so the move will wait til tomorrow. As you can see Nanny is aceing all that is being thrown her way. We had to take her ipad away from her when she started typing return messages to you all- we have to have something to work on next week. We look forward to more visits tomorrow and will keep you updated. She is doing so well and we are so proud and happy and really warning you to \"up your game\" cuz Nanny is better than ever:))))) Linda and Robyn

Hello all- We are very grateful for this day to end on such positive notes. Nancy has been stellar, just like we knew she would be!!!! Ok, so Papa (Dick) visited with Nanny at about 6:00 and spoke with her Dr. and he was very pleased with how things were going. He said that they would be taking breathing tube out after Papa left. Confident that as the haze lifted Nancy would be awake and be ready to talk with her Dick in the morning. Again, we are so grateful for how the day went!!!!! Now to some housekeeping items: First- There have been many requests as to \"what can I do, send, make.... Nancy requested that the best thing that anyone could do for her would be to make a donation to the American Heart Association 460 North Lindbergh Blvd. St. Louis, MO 63141. The second item: Nanny requested a heart shaped gift in a little blue box (Tiffanys). Well- as I am sure you guessed-- Papa (Dick) jumped at the opportunity to fulfill this request!!! Thank you for all of your continued thoughts and prayers as we embark on the recovery phase of this journey- I am very confident that Nanny will do this as she does everything- exceptionally!!! We are so proud of her!!!!! To my son Ben- I knew that only great things would happen on a day that was also your 20th birthday- we all love you to pieces!! P.S. A special shoutout to Nurse Judy who referred to Nancy as a \"young one.\"--- Nanny has a new BFF :))) Robyn and Linda
