I am having moderate AR but my LVEF is 45%. LVEF decreased from 49% to 45% in last 5 months. Should surgery be considered at this stage?

I have read that the dropping of ejection fraction may indicate a worsening condition. Symptoms may begin to increase. I would think that is something to avoid by scheduling surgery . Are your doctors hesitant to proceed for some reason?

I have read the same as Marie and would check this out further to determine best option moving forward.

Why in some patients with severe AR, LVEF remains normal while in others with moderate AR LVEF reaches abnormal?? At what LVEF surgery should be considered in moderate AR case? Any related guideline available.

I haven't seen any guidelines on this. I have very severe Aortic Stenosis with no symptoms and my LVEF is normal. I have opted to proceed with surgery so I don't compromise my heart function as the months go on.
