Fidel Martínez Ruiz About 1 month more o less in my case. Everyone is different, I remember not having very much pain in my chest and was not serious. I still have the metal staples in the sternon and don't bother me practically. Sometimes, I have some throat pain, but due to a slight esophagitis, perhaps as a result of medication (4 pills per day).
