Hi Gerald. Happy 5 years. Thanks for your honest update. I also got an (unexpected) pacemaker after valve replacement. I also spent 3 weeks in hospital with complications. I can relate. Gerald, what a positive attitude and it worked! 5 years and more to come. Thanks for sharing your story. Not sure why the surgeon/cardiologist gave you such a longevity prognosis, but you proved him wrong. Do you ever get a second opinion?

May I ask why your life expectancy is 3-5 years? Something with the valve replacement (should usually last a lifetime), the pacemaker or some other issues? I like the positive attitude but I think your experience could help others.
