You are right Dan, Dr. Adams is one of the best in the world, but I really wanted to avoid the cracked sternum, and also my surgeon is considered one of the best in Europe. I have insurance but I still chose to go to Germany mainly because of the super minimally invasive surgery, and I'm happy I did - I'm now almost 4 weeks after surgery and going away next week on a vacation - I feel really good. If you are, other than the valve issue, in good health - you'll be back on your feet in no time! Good luck!!!

Didi, your incisions look great. Glad you are doing so well. Do you have any pain on your right side? I had a mitral valve repair through a mini-thoracotomy (a larger incision then normal due to a difficult repair) & I could not believe how painful it was. They say if you are in good shape from working out it's more painful due to how much muscle etc, they have to cut through. (plus the nerves & tissue). Dan, did you find out what kind of incision you will have? (i.e.: robotic, mini-thoracotomy or mini-sternotomy?)
