Hi Bill, Welcome to our community. You raise a great (and tough) question. That said, I just posted a link below to an educational video all about this topic. The video might give you some additional thoughts about which valve type may be best for you. As for me, I was 33 at the time of my operation. So you know, I ski. I surf. I run. I Scuba dive. For those reasons, I thought that a biological valve would be best for me. Then, I heard about the Ross Procedure -- which I ultimately went with. 20 years later, I have not had a reintervention and I have not needed to take any medication (e.g. blood thinners). Ultimately, this really is a personal call. Whichever valve you choose will be the right valve for you. Continue on with your research, maybe make a "Pro/Con" list and the answer will come to you.
