Phyllis Petersen Welcome to the community! Dr. Gillinov performed my robotic MVr on 10/13/16 at CC. Who did yours? I see you're up north, so the weather is pretty stinky right now, but it's important to get to be walking. Will you be doing cardiac rehab? I've been coming along very well since the surgery. I still don't have the level of stamina I'd like, but it's improving all the time. I had only one problem: the stitches under my breast where they put the robot in broke and became a bit inflamed. I was still in Ohio, so was able to get back over to CC. It was slow healing, but is closed up now. I started cardiac rehab in mid-November and am progressing more rapidly than I could have imagined. Christmas week I went hiking and had to listen to my legs instead of my heart, because I can't hear my heart anymore. Yay! I hope you have a quick and uneventful recovery.

Robert D'Aurora I had mitral valve repair at the Cleveland Clinic on 11/8/16. I feel pretty well. Ran 4 miles today, averaged 12.5 minutes/mile, which is much slower than my before surgery average of 9 minutes/mile. My heart rate got up to 130 beats/minute. But, all in all, 2 months after major heart surgery, I cannot complain. My heart did not bother me during the run. My right chest is still a little numb and tender. I cannot do a regular push up. My right groin is still a bit sensitive, but much, much better than it was. Have been back to work for about a month. I don't seem to be as tired as I was before surgery. The 3 month wait for the surgery appointment seemed like it took forever, but the 2 months after surgery have really flown by.
