After having the valve repaired and the maze procedure, I thought I was done with heart issues. Not true. At my 6 month check, up the echo showed that the valve was closing up. It appeared that scar tissue had grown around it. We checked it again last month and it was closed more. I have been having much difficulty breathing if I walk short distances or take the stairs. The maze procedure cured the afib. My doctor is recommending that the valve be replaced in January 2017. I'm very saddened to have to go through all of this again. Just wondering if anyone has experienced what I am.
