About Me (In My Own Words)
All started with shortness of breath, fatigue and heart palapatations. I thought I had asthma, thought I needed to get in shape...that would help the tiredness and it would help me breath better, right? Went to my regular doctor and did an asthma test, lungs are fine. Then I went on a 48 hour Holter monitor to check for Afib. My mother has afib and currently on a pacemaker. While on the monitor I had a massive prolonged Afib episode. Heart rate at times was over 200 bpm. Went to a cardiologist who ordered an Echo and a week before Christmas I received my diagnosis. I need a Mitral Valve repair and MAZE procedure. My cardiologist recommended Loyola or Northwestern in Chicago for the surgery. I chose Northwestern.
