About Me (In My Own Words)
I was Dx with moderate aortic regurgitation and a bicuspid aortic valve when I was 30. Last summer at age 53, very fit and active, I began passing out. I was short of breath a lot as well. Called my cardiologist and went in for a stress echo. The tech started the echo and brought in a Dr who told me that my leakage was now severe and they didn’t want me to get on the treadmill. My surgeon; Dr Marc Gerdisch did a repair instead of replacement. Now a year later I’ve began having some excessive fatigue upon exertion and dizzy spells. I called cardiologist and had an echo to find out that I now have moderate aortic stenosis. 11 months ago the mean gradient was 10 and is now 28. I knew that I’d eventually have to have this valve replaced but didn’t expect to have theses symptoms going on so early. But I’m thankful that I have a wonderful surgeon and that there is something that can be done when the time comes. 🙏🏻😊. I trust you Jesus
