In 2019 I had open heart surgery for severe aortic valve regurgitation caused by a bicuspid aortic valve. I found out about my valve when I was 35 years old and was told it would need to be replaced like when I reached my fifties to 60s. When I came out of surgery, I was told that I had a repair and not a replacement. One year later I started having symptoms again and went to the cardiologist to find out that it is now moderately leaking again as well as moderate stenosis. I recently saw a new cardiologist who was able to get a hold of the surgical notes and I was told the reason I did not have a valve replacement at the time was because my native valve is too tiny! He said when a time comes that it does need to be replaced. He would likely send me to the Cleveland Clinic to have a rebuild of my heart so that it would be able to except a larger valve! Has anybody gone through this? I don’t see Cardiologist again for a couple weeks and it scares me
