About Me

I was diagnosed with aortic regurgitation during a Doppler Echocardiogram in 2007 (30 years old) performed preemptively because of sports practice. Didn't had any symptoms and the leak was minimal. Controlled the valve yearly with an Eco Doppler and cardiac resistance test. Know from the beginning that the fate most likely would face me with the HVR. In late 2023 after 16 years without any symptoms my cardiologist spotted a small difference in the Eco and decided to perform a MR study of the heart. The MR showed a severe regurgitation and a severe left ventricle dilation. Also without any symptoms it was the time to go through the inevitable decision to proceed with the surgery to avoid severe heart complications in the future that might not recover. After the preliminary conversations with both the intervention cardiologist and the cardiac surgeon I opted for the Biological tissue prosthesis if the valve couldn't be repaired. I got the tissue valve Inspiris Resilia MODEL 11500A SIZE 25 MM. And that was what happened! The HVR surgery went through last January 2024 and the recovery is going on in accordance with the plan! Feeling very well and returning gradually to normal routines! Fist milestone achieved: After 5 days of the surgery the Echo shows that the LV had recovered 100% being now with normal dimensions!!!!! Outstanding!
