About Me

I was shocked to find I had a faulty mitral valve with severe regurgitation that needed to be surgically repaired. I went into hospital for an angiogram and transoesophageal echocardiogram and expected to go home and then make an appointment at a future date with a surgeon but ended up having minimally invasive surgery (right minithoracotomy) 2 days later! My husband was in shock! The repair was a success. I was on warfarin and amiodorone for 3 months but now my only medication is mini aspirin. The surgery was no walk in the park, but I am very grateful to be alive and a year later feeling much better, fitter and happier.
