About Me

I should not be surprised seeing how bad I have been feeling and the shortness of breath and chest pain I have experienced would result in my diagnosis. Last week I had a TEE and catherization to be told that I have severe aorta valve stenosis. The nurses asked me how I was able to breathe because of the severity. I was told the heart surgeon would call me next day. The surprise I received then was that I also needed a triple bypass with 70, 80 and 90% blockages. Needless to say I became extremely upset, mad and was not sure I could go through with the surgery. I am petrified, emotional and am scared to close my eyes so am now sleep deprived. I have been repeatedly told it will be fine, stories of how this one and that one went through it and are doing great and I should stop crying. I am so thankful to be able to read about true life stories on recent patients. I am hoping that this will get me through next week's surgery and on the road to recovery.
