I was born with a bicuspid aortic valve. In 2003, at age 44. That valve was replaced with an On-X valve and an ascending aorta aneuryism was repaired with an intravascular graft. Last week I had an ablation due to PAC’s (every third beat was extra and too much burden on the heart) During the ablation they saw a “dilated aortic root” and an “aortic aneuryism”located between the prosthetic valve and the first aneuryism repair. I had a CT scan Sept 3 and the Sinus of Valsalva was 4.7 cm x 5.2. (In January the dilation was measured at 4.5 cm on an echocardiogram, though I realize that test cannot be utilized for growth most likely. ) I have an appointment with a cardiac surgeon on Oct 1 at Pauleys Heart Center at VCU, Richmond, VA to review the CT scan and to see whether this is a wait and watch or potential surgery situation.
