About Me

My first echo was done in 1982. I had Rheumatic fever as a child and developed a murmur as I got older. I was told that 3 valves needed to be watched. I've had multiple echos over the years. Last year, I became progressively more short of breath. I used to walk 2 miles every day. Now, I can't walk 10 feet without gasping for air! I had an echo done, which led to a TEE, then, a heart Cath. I'm waiting for surgery to be scheduled. Add to the valve trouble, I had a subarachnoid hemorrhage (brain bleed) in 2019 after an employer mandated flu shot! Valve surgery can't be scheduled until after I see a neurologist and he says short term blood thinners are OK for me.
