Greetings all. On May 25, 2021 I was diagnosed with a descending Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm of about 4.4cm. It was a complete shock. I was training for a marathon and someone suggested a calcium scoring test to be on the safe side as I am 56. I thought I would pass with flying colors but I did not; found this condition. I have been reading non stop. Also, I am a former power lifter. Also probably worth noting that I am a big guy 6’4”, 240lbs looking to get to 220. I have gotten two opinions thus far (Yale NH and Hartford Hospital) and planning for a third opinion from Mass General. The first two opinions were inconsistent in regards to timing but both immediately lean to the valve sparing thoracic replacement option when the time comes. I have also proceeded with a genetic test. My anxiety is through the roof. In this early stage I am in uber information gathering mode.
