I was misdiagnosed with Mitral Valve Prolapse when I was in college and found out 8 years ago that I had a Bicuspid Aortic Valve. My sister had a heart attack at a young age and that prompted my doc to do some tests which revealed the heart defect. It has always seemed something "out there" in the future and I never even thought about it until my Echo May 2019. My cardiologist started asking about possible symptoms and then said, "Well its probably going to be sooner rather than later.." And October 2020 echo proved that to be true.
I have severe aortic stenosis and have had my first discussions with Dr Najm at Cleveland Clinic.
I am looking at April as I don't have symptoms at this point. Looking at either a Bovine Valve or Ozaki procedure, still doing some research but ready to get a date set and start to wrap my head around it all!
