Send Marjorie a NoteAbout Me
I had mitral valve repair in 2005 at the Mayo Clinic.
Everything went great. Recovery was fast.
Now 13 years later and 13 years older my echo is showing that my mitral valve is leaking severely and my aortic valve is moderately leaking.
My cardiologist is stating that both valves will need to be replaced. I have requested my records to be sent to the Mayo Clinic and am waiting to hear back.
I am concerned about the surgery and the long term affect of living with two artificial valves! I am 76 years old now. Very active and in perfect health ( except for my heart!!) And I have no symptoms which makes it difficult to accept this diagnosis.
I guess I need to not borrow trouble and wait to see what the cardiologist at Mayo has to say..
Has anyone had both valves replaced at the same time?
