About Me

I am 48 yo and 5 years ago was diagnosed with mitral regurgitation following cardiac ablation for SVT. Since late last year I have had worrying deterioration in my health, increasing breathlessness initially on hills or stairs and now on any walking. I have had 2 big faints, a couple of borderline ecgs. I get breathless walking even a little and am so sick of arriving at work pale, weak and feeling wobbly and being sent home! Am now on betablockers (low dose) and nitrolingual spray which helps also aspirin which has been great. I am worried even though I know they can do so much. Until new year I could regularly walk 12 km on flat and was fit. I eat healthily, never smoked, slim and just want to be able to live normally again! I will be ensuring I get tests done to get to the bottom of this. Any advice re medication vs operation? Thanks Louise
