About Me

I have been diagnosed with severe aortic stenosis and told I have a bicuspid valve, not the normal tricuspid valve. I have seen two surgeons over the past 12 months. One surgeon wanted to perform a full sternotomy or possibly a mini-sternotomy, if he thought at the time it would be possible. My second surgeon canceled our appointment twice. Then resigned from his hospital before meeting with me. This surgeon was planning a mini thoracotomy aortic valve replacement procedure, which was and is still my choice. I am hopefully third time is the charm as I meet with my surgeon this month, October. I am trying to stay as healthy, mentally, physically and emotionally, as possible as I work through this process.
