My name is Lauren and I live near Cleveland Ohio. I first found out that I was going to need surgery for a tear in the mitral valve with moderate to severe regurgitation in early September 2021. Since I had no real symptoms it was discovered after doing a TTE and TEE to check out a loud heart murmur. My surgery is 1/5/2022 with Dr. Hodges at the Cleveland Clinic. I am not sure if it will be a repair or replacement due to severe Mitro Annular Calcification.
