About Me (In My Own Words)
Back at the beginning of this year, my electrophysiologist heard a heart murmur that he wanted to further investigate. I already have Long QT Syndrome and have a SICD. But the heart murmur had become a new thing. Long story short and 3 echoes and a TEE later, I am now in the waiting line for surgery. I've been planning and preparing for this date, but now that it's happening, I'm full of anxiety and dread. I'm fully aware of how great my surgeon is and the hospital is top-notch, but I have an extra worry of an undiagnosed allergic reaction that almost killed me last time I was on the operating table. I've tested everything under the sun (all the drugs from the operating room, my immune system in general, every sort of food and "typical" allergen.) All negative. So, now I go back into the operating theater with no knowledge of what could set me off. I'm scared.
