About Me

I had surgery on Juli 28 2016 at the age of 58. I received a 23 mm On-X mechanical valve that is now giving me a very reassuring click. I also received a wrap around my ascending aorta. After full recovery I plan to climb Mt. Hood with my son. But watch out: I started riding my mountain bike again on Surveyor's Ridge with a beautiful view of Mt. Hood in October 2016 (just 8 weeks post OP) and are now riding more than before. This included riding in Oakridge Oregon and Arizona. It was there that I did my longest mountain bike ride ever - close to 70 miles. So I really think this new valve is performing great and I wanted to let all of you know how well today's medical technology and treatment is.
