About Me (In My Own Words)
I was born with a bicuspid aortic valve, but I didn’t know it until 2010 that I went to a cardiologist. After echo the cardiologist told me that I had aortic valve stenosis. My symptoms were pain in my chest, anxiety and stress. But, with my fibromyalgia I have pain spread over my whole body too. In 2011 I had an event that I cannot breath and I thought it was my anxiety. Later I knew it was the valve. It was terrible. Then I have a pain in the center of my chest. In January 2012 my doctor told me that I needed an open heart surgery to replace my aortic valve. After my transesophagic echo the doctor told me that I needed the surgery as soon as possible because I only had about one year of life. It was not easy because after that I get sick of everything. The doctors also found that I had an aneurysm in my ascending aorta. After some appointments for surgery and my fibromyalgia and a lot of other medical issues my doctor recommend me to get the surgery in Cleveland Clinic. The surgery was in July 12, 2012 at Cleveland Clinic. By that time I was 54 years. I was 10 days in the hospital. It was minimally invasive surgery with cow valve and the doctor did not touch the aneurysm that time because it doesn’t have the size for surgery. During my stay in the hospital I had atrial fibrillation and then I was in warfarin. Also with amiodarone for 28 days. The next week after my discharged I returned to the emergency room with chest pain. I was one month in Cleveland with all the appointments after my discharged. Once in my home I continued with chest pain for over six months. And all that time my levels with warfarin were crazy. And my levels of thyroid were crazy too. And I had pain over my whole body. Now the aneurysm in the ascending aorta has grown. I have a CT scan this month to check the aneurysm.
