About Me (In My Own Words)
I’m 41 years old, originally from near Longview, Texas, but now live in Michigan. Went from being a copy editor/page designer to mom to RN but am now disabled thanks to Ehlers-Danlos and degenerative disc disease.
I’m currently soaking up as much info as I can while waiting to have an AVR. I have a quadricuspid aortic valve that’s calcified and making me have moderate AR. QAV is stupid rare—about 200 cases reported since it was discovered in 1862. I’m having an exercise stress test Jan. 3, 2020, to see if I’m symptomatic or not since I don’t really exercise. The only heart issue I’ve had till now is I had an ablation for a severe LV arrhythmia in 2015.
Side note: My profile pic is the shirt I got to wear after my OHS, as a reminder to myself for when I probably won’t be feeling very tough that I’m actually tough AF. 🤗😆
