I was diagnosed with rheumatic fever when I was 12. ( spent a full year in bed rest as was the protocol in1963. ) Current technologies indicate I most likely did not have rheumatic fever but rather had aortic regurgitation. In 1978 I was diagnosed with severe aortic regurgitation. And followed with echocardiogram 2x's a year . More recently with MRI and MRA. Now at 66 need surgery for aortic regurgitation
