About Me

I was diagnosed with aortic stenosis in 2001 when I ended up in the hospital with chest pain and thought I was having a heart attack. My doctor ran all kinds of tests for two days, but could not find any reason for the pain. He did however inform me that I had aortic stenosis and I would need to keep an eye on it. It was in the mild stage at the time, but I have now been informed it is in the severe stage and I need to have surgery. So in searching the internet, I found this site and ordered Adam Pick's book, The Patient's Guide To Heart Valve Surgery. I am so grateful he wrote this book because it has given me a wealth of information, and is helping me deal with my situation. I still have to get a second opinion, and schedule my surgery. Updates will follow.
