I had been having symptoms of extreme fatigue, episodes of feeling dizzy and lightheaded, and shortness of breath and tightness in my chest. I am active, work full time and only 50 so I blamed the symptoms on stress and menopause! I finally went to the ER on 4/4/16 , when the shortness of breath increased. They found numerous nodules on my lungs after CT scan. I was admitted to the hospital with suspicion of metastatic lung cancer. They did a CT with contrast of my chest, brain and abdomen the next day. The nodules had significantly improved but they found that my mitral valve was severely leaking and the "nodules" in my lungs were likely the result of mitral valve regurgitation.
