In 2017 I went in for my normal physical. My GP said all my numbers were great and to keep doing what I had been doing. I told him something wasn't right. I was biking 25 miles a day but the fatigue was not subsiding. Got him to order a echo and found out I had severe mitral regurgitation. Was referred to local cardiology and told I would need surgery. I requested Mayo Clinic and he suggested a surgeon. He was able to do a repair and my mitral valve has been fine since then.
