About Me (In My Own Words)
I was diagnosed 15 plus years ago with mitral valve prolapse. Years later was diagnosed with mildly enlarged aortic root and ascending aorta. May 2025 was told the valve was at an advanced level 4 and needed surgery to repair. October 6th came and minutes from the OR got canceled. That was difficult. Then October 21 at it was done through a thoracotomy.
The recovery has been ok heart wise but it has been a serious struggle with ANS recalibration which was never explained and still really isn’t 16 weeks post op!
