I was diagnosed with BAV and severe aortic stenosis on June 1, 2016 after many years of being misdiagnosed with a prolapsed mitral valve. Interestingly, my mitral valve is fine. However, this misdiagnosis caused me to ignore symptoms for years. During a recent surgical consultation in Chicago, I was told AVR was necessary within the next 3 months and now I have my date - December 19, 2017. Fairly nervous but ready to feel better and start running again.
