About Me

I was first diagnosed with mild aortic valve stenosis in 2005, but had had a murmur all my life. By 2016 it had progressed to moderate, then to severe by 2017. But no symptoms! I underwent open heart surgery for an AVR and 1 bypass on March 12, 2018. 3 months later, and I'm basically back to my normal life except I still tire easily. I am busy researching heart disease as it has affected so many in my family. I envision a day when it can be reversed without surgery. In the meantime, I am very grateful for all the amazing surgeons and other professionals out there who saved my life and made my journey easier. My advice? Relax, sit back, and enjoy the ride. Let yourself be pampered and revel in your time to rest! You'll be back in the crazy busy world all too soon!
