I'm 48 years old and have been working out 5 days a week for about 2-3 years, in the best condition of my life....or so I thought! At my yearly exam this past June 2013, my primary care physician, Dr. Janice Patacsil-Trull, was concerned about how loud my heart murmur had gotten all of a sudden (I had first been told about having one about 15 years ago). She sent me for an echocardiogram which found I have moderate to severe mitral valve regurgitation.
