"Dr. Byrne was the 3rd surgeon I interviewed. He took the most amount of time explaining things in layman's terms. He was extremely comforting but did not "sugar coat" much at all... He was extremely nice and emphasized how important the recovery team is to have a successful timely recovery... One of the main reasons i liked Brigham & Woman's Hospital. He was recommended to me by Dr Sundt from Mass Gen. for Minimally invasive...
I ended up needing my aorta aneurysm shaved as well so it was not a min invasive... Dr. Byrne followed up with me day 2, 3 and 4 in the ICU and step-down unit. He was Great and very easy to ask questions... I'm glad i chose Dr. Byrne.
Its been 3 weeks and my scar looks great so far... I met with all the chief surgeons at Mass Gen, B&W and Maine Med... These surgeons are all "Rock Stars". However, Dr. Byrne was the most down to earth in a way i felt very comfortable...."

"I consider Dr. Byrne to be an extremely competent, professional, and caring surgeon. I don't hesitate to recommend him as a heart surgeon to others in need of his expertise. Dr. Byrne is the Chief of the Cardiac Surgery Department at Brigham & Women's Hospital now."
