About Me
Diagnosed in 1996 with a bicuspid valve, Bill had no issues and was extremely active, pursuing such activities as competitive road cycling, golf, basketball, and running around 20 miles a week. On a routine cardiology appt. (that his wife made him schedule to get a clean bill of health before running in the Big Sur, CA 1/2 marathon), his cardiologist discovered that Bill's aortic root and ascending aorta was enlarged and that his bicuspid valve had a moderate leak. He met with a local cardiac surgeon in Nashville before ultimately choosing a surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio (his hometown). His surgery is scheduled for October 18th.
