About Me

In January my physician referred me to a cardiologist to have some test performed to make sure everything was good with my heart. I have uncontrollable hbp and have suffered a stroke due to it at age 39 in 2011. In February I had a stress test and echocardiogram done. On March 23rd my cardiologist told me my heart was working properly but that I had quite a bit of valve leakage. On March 27th I had a TEE performed to see just how much leakage was going on. My follow up appointment was April 6th and my cardiologist advised me the the valve leakage was worse than he thought. I have valve prolapse which he thinks is causing the leakage and right now the level is moderate severe and he's recommending surgery. My heart sunk. I had been on pins and needles every since he first told me that I may need surgery. So many emotions and tears. Every since then I have been researching and reading any and everything. When I found out there was a minimal invasive procedure I felt a little better and praying that I'm a candidate. I am schedule to meet the surgeon on April 24th, his name is Dr Kevin Accula. I had read so many great things about him and that's really makes me feel good. The office manager at my cardiologist office told me her husband had OHS and the same doctor performed it and things went really well. Although I don't want the surgery I hope we can go ahead and schedule it on the 24th and get this out of the way. What happens now....... so many questions
