The cortisone should work. They gave gave me a stronger dose by prescription. My fear, not knowing brand stick on they used, that i will get it again next time. 

Well, finally someone besides me was allergic to the glue from the ekg probes. Never happened before but this last time. Hoochie mama. I still have a faint square scar after 2 months. Made in china? It was fire red, lumpy and itched like poison ivy. Colonoscopy end of September. Fingers crossed it does not reoccur.

I live in McHenry Illinois and go to Northwestern also for my echos and 6 month checks of my moderate to severe Tricuspid regurgitation and aortic aneurysm. I see Dr Rigolin and am still in wait and watch mode, since with tricuspid, it is difficult to time surgery. I also have nickel allergy, but never had tests for it. I am glad I saw this post, as I will now get tests done so that the results are in place when the time comes. I also have allergies to certain glue ingridients, latex and the adhesive in the patches they put on the leads for when you have an echo or wear a monitor. I get terrible itchy round hives for weeks after.
I will be going for my next echo on Tuesday the 16th, my birthday, and may ask Dr about this as well as about Dr Johnston. I would like to speak to a surgeon personally as to best timing for my specific tricuspid issue.

Hi Suelynn,  my Name is Evan and I am looking at an aortic valve replacement as well...  If I can please get you advise? After having your 2nd valve I am curious as to your thoughts.  If you were at square 1 so long ago would you still choose a biotype valve?  Was the freedom of no blood thinner and possibly hearing your heart tick, etc. worth the 2nd surgery?  I do not want a  mechanical valve but am not sure how a 2nd surgery would go.  I am 60 yrs old.

Any/ all advise on your journey would be appreciated.

I came across your post on Adam’s site and I hope you are doing well. I had an open heart pulmonary valve replacement with a bovine valve two years ago by Dr. Tong at the Cleveland Clinic, and I can’t believe how it has changed my life. I was intrigued by your allergy issue because my husband has a severe nickel allergy and after he received a dental implant, he has had all kinds of health issues like you discussed, eczema type rash, GI issues and feeling tired a lot, not at all like himself before the implant. I believe it’s related to metal in the implant but doctors have been dismissive. Can I ask which type of doctor you saw for metal allergy testing? We live north of Chicago and I can’t seem to find a doctor who does it. Thank you! So glad I saw this! 

It is wonderful that you are doing so well. I will have to have a redo on my aortic valve before very long. When did you have your first surgery? Why couldn’t they do the TAVR this time?

Hi Suelynn….I will be thinking of you on Monday. You have already gone through a lot. You now have more knowledge about your allergy and a surgeon who will use products that will be safe for you. I am having aortic valve replacement the day after you! I am getting a Medtronic porcine valve but I do not know the type. Prayers for both of us to have very successful surgical outcomes and recovery!💕🙏🏽
