I looked down the street and how close one of my former walking destinations was, but I knew I didn't have the strength do make it and I'd only do damage to myself if I tried, so I walked home. God forbid, if you have another health crisis between now and your surgery, you'd be out of commission with no care in place. No one wants the surgery you've set up to get derailed. You matter, your life and health matter. Susan offered a great option. There are additional dog sitters/walkers with reviews on rover.com. If you'd rather use a vet, many offer boarding. Hope you can make a solid choice right away. Please! Sending care and concern...

Thomas Brusstar I'm sure they will still be fully staffed and alert if they scheduled a surgery.
The nursing staff will probably be extra cheery at the holidays. My wife snapped her tibia skiing in Wyoming/Idaho on New Years Eve a few years ago, and needed surgery to put a metal rod in her leg. Having surgery first thing on New Years Day doesn't sound like a good time for an alert medical staff -- BUT we were at a hospital in rural Idaho where they were all Mormon. At least we knew they weren't out drinking the night before!

Sean Coast Thank you, each of you, for the reply's, I'm scheduled in less than two weeks but I'm feeling so weak I'm not sure I'll make it that long. Their office has called to see how I'm doing. They said my two recent trips to the ER were cardiac related and it should have been done then. The Dr. hadn't given me a consultation at the point though, only my cardiologist was contacted, not the surgeon, at least that's what I'm guessing anyway.

Hi Sean. I am reaching out to my family and friends in the Medford area to find resources for your dogs. I had my aortic valve replaced and it has been amazing. Recovery went a lot faster than expected and now I’m hiking, boxing, running , bike riding etc. No more dizziness. Get in there and get your heart fixed. The docs really have this down pat. Sean Coast Thank you for the response. People keep telling me how much better they feel after surgery and I keep wanting to experience it for myself. Up until recently I was doing a very high level cardio (a lot of good that did me) workout plus weights. Now I'm way too weak. A lake walk with my dog that used to take 30 minutes at the most now takes 60 minutes. My dog is very important to me and she doesn't take it wall when I'm not there. I also posted this on the website but I'd decided to email too in case you hear of anything. Does your family know anything about the Medford area surgeons?

Hi Sean, sorry to hear about your experience. If you decide to try it again, you can close your eyes and think of pleasant things. It works wonders. Before you know it, the test will be over. Also, there are some clinics that have an open MRI that are used to accommodate claustrophobic patients and children. Take it easy on yourself. Feel better.
