I saw your question and think you should contact your cardiologist to move your six month appointment sooner. It's your heart and you don't want to take any chances. Also, it's best to have surgery before any kind of event. As far as flying after surgery, many on this site have done it so I'm sure they will chime in. Please keep us posted.

Corey Potter I flew five days after my surgery and I'm glad I did as the drive would have been 6 hours and probably uncomfortable. I was told to wear my compression socks and get up every hour to keep the blood flowing. You should be just fine. After having gone through this experience, I'm a firm believer in being a bit more aggressive and not waiting until something goes wrong before you have surgery. If you are having symptoms and your are moderate to severe, I would be having a serious conversation with a qualified center. Best wishes on your journey.
