Hi Margot, I will be having a Aoatic valve replacement surgery on 12/20/2017. I am not sure which valve replacement to go with machinal or tissue valve. I'm nervous about taking blood thinner. Any suggestions! Thanks, Shamilla

You look great Margot. Was your surgery minimally invasive or did they open your chest. My first mitral valve surgery they opened my chest. That was 5 years ago. Now the valve is failing so they are talking about a minimally invasive surgery with a 4" scar.

My surgery was complete open heart. I was teased with a TAVR but we decided I was too healthy and the bicuspid aortic valve is better replaced directly.

Hi Margo Just read your story. I live in Ga. And have had 3 aortic valves replacement. I changed to Emory doctors this year. Because I will need a 4th but will be very high risk when I do. My daughter also has heart problems she had her 2 surgery... Read more.
